בס"ד

Shalom ,At some point, on or after the fast, we hopefully ask ourselves, "Why am I fasting?" and/or "Why did I fast?"

Although every fast day has its theme, the essence of the fast day applies equally to every fast and to every Jew, whether a person is able to fast or not. Namely, to correct the reason that caused the fast day, specifically, our natural self-centeredness.

This is the honest way to improve ourselves, our relationship with our Creator, and our relationships with our fellow human beings.

One major way in which we can take a step out of our self-centered circle is the Mitzva of Tzedaka, especially on a fast day when we have to overcome hunger pangs that cause us to focus yet more on ourselves. Jumping over this higher than usual hurdle allows us to achieve a greater measure of self-improvement.

Your Tzedaka to HaTzadik.Org strengthens Hesder "Soldier-Scholars" and their heroic wives at the various stages of life, family, and career. After many months of combat away from home, thousands are struggling to stay above the poverty line. The list of stressors is long: Lives disrupted, finances depleted, injuries sustained, wives running their households alone for several months, strained marriages, etc., etc.

As a donor, you strengthen and encourage the defenders of our People and Land, the future leaders of the Jewish People, the community and army Rabbis, Dayanim/Rabbinical Judges, Poskim/Rabbinic Decisors, school teachers, and ambassadors of Torah in the professional world -- here and also in the Diaspora. Hesder alumni are and will increasingly be the major players in determining the spiritual, social, and political character of the Jewish State and Jewish communities around the world.

HaTzadik.Org's Soldiers and Wives Resilience Project promotes the following initiatives:

  • "Refreshing Love After War" -- Shabbaton and weekday marriage Workshops for military couples. (in person, and G-d willing, expanding soon to Zoom.)

  • Food support for families of Soldiers-Scholars during their rabbinical training and army service

  • Partnering with Miluimnikot Buddies (watch our video!)

  • Partnering with Mazon4Heroes: Homemade Shabbat food for hundreds of soldiers

  • Partnering with Mosdot Ohel Shimshon, to provide support to soldier families in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and beyond. (Food, toys for children, hachnasat kallah, etc.)

  • And more!

Whenever possible HaTzadik.Org uses miluimnikim/reservist vendors to help bolster the businesses of our heroes. This is a "double home-run" for your generous donation!

OUR MISSION

HaTzadik.org is dedicated to nurturing authentic Jewish society in the modern State of Israel and beyond. We place a special—though not exclusive—emphasis on supporting the Soldier-Scholars and alumni of Hesder, who courageously combine IDF service with Torah study. Through dignified material assistance, moral encouragement, and vocational training, we empower these young men and their families to lead with strength, faith, and integrity.
